How we add value

Assembly

Once the packaging construct has been created, whether that be a box, jacket, pack or carton, we add the finishing touches at our dedicated assembly points to make each brand truly bespoke.

Product added value

  • Sleeves

For additional brand emphasis or simply to negate the need to create bespoke, custom boxes, for example for seasonal gifts or promotions.

  • Ribbon attachments

Add another sign of luxury with beautifully crafted gift packaging finished with a bow.

  • Inserts

To ensure that what’s inside the box counts and is as professionally and beautifully presented as it is externally. Inserts provide a presentation and functional benefit, used to further stabilise the contents or enhance the product experience by placing your brands firmly on display. They include cushioning foam, card or more cost-effective plastic vacuum forming.

  • Embellishments

Badges, bells or other trinkets can be added to personalise your package.

  • Magnet insertions

A magnet insertion can be used where a weighty closure is needed.

Stock holding

Stockholding

Customers who have limited storage options often miss out on the economies of scale achieved by buying in bulk.  We have extensive storage facilities of 13,000 sq ft in the conveniently located Midlands, allowing customers to take advantage of the competitive price of a larger order while only requesting product as and when needed. It also means we can be highly responsive and agile in our supply as and when there is a peak in customer demand.

Paper packaging design

From concept to commercialisation, we partner with our customers to create the packaging their brands deserve.

Our tried and trusted methodology on luxury paperboard packaging design

We’re used to thinking outside the box when it comes to luxury packaging. We roll up our sleeves, share our expertise and work with you at every step of the process.

    • Conceptualisation. Firstly, we take the time to fully understand your concept. You may have only an outline brief or you may have a fully-formed idea. Either way, our expert team will apply their knowhow to create a solution that ticks all boxes in presenting your brand.
    • Prototyping. Our KASE (Knowledge Assisted Software Engineering) helps our designers create the best in functional and quality designs when working from scratch. It also serves to improve on any existing designs you might have.

Technical drawings

Our technical drawings are available either as 2D with your artwork applied or as 3D, allowing you to turn, rotate and flip your designs.

Our state-of-the-art digital printing facilities allow us to produce a variety of finishes including embossed and debossed areas, presenting a cost-effective solution for customers who wish to see packaging samples prior to the main production.

Production

We pride ourselves on our agility. From receipt of customer artwork, we are able to manufacture a finished product – including bows or any other post-printing value add – in an impressive two weeks!

Our quality is second to none. Our Emmeci machines are considered the most advanced box making machinery, able to operate to the tightest of tolerances and consistency.

post printing

Post printing

We apply litho printed labels with up to eight colours, foil blocking and decorative varnishes.

We offer four options as part of our post-printing services:

Foil blocking
If your brand is a category leader – or if you have aspirations to become a category leader – investing in foil blocking gives your product the stamp of authority with premium shelf and consumer appeal and stand-out differentiation.
Metallic or pigment foil is applied to the packaging, followed by a heated die which is stamped onto the foil. There is no impact on the recyclability of the packaging.
Where greater intricacy is required, we can offer chemically-etched copper dies instead of CNC cut brass dies. It’s a particularly popular approach with our luxury chocolatier customers.

Debossing and embossing
Debossing – which creates an imprinted effect – and embossing – which creates a raised effect – are equally as successful in making your logo, image or strapline stand out. Both options can be left untouched if the impression you wish to create is understated elegance. Alternatively, they can be filled in with dye or foil stamping for stand-out appeal. Our significant investment in tooling over the years means we are able to tackle even the most intricate details of a crest or other emblem. We’re happy to share examples of our bespoke gravure debossing.

Film lamination
For products built with long-lasting appeal – for example, puzzles and games – we offer film lamination for added protection and durability.

UV screen varnishes
We offer gloss, matt and soft-touch varnishes. They are a popular alternative to film lamination since they make the pack widely recyclable. Better still, they’re a more cost-effective alternative. For added elegance, soft-touch varnish offers a velvety finish whilst a high build varnish creates a high-end embossed texture.
